Teacher’s film to highlight danger of county lines gangs

Posted: 27th September 2022

Brad Da, assistant head at Trevelyan Middle School, has created a film which aims to highlight how county lines gangs are targeting middle-class children. Children are acting in the film, as well as producing, editing and writing the dialogue so it comes across as realistic. Pupils have been advised by a documentary film company, charities, police and young adults who escaped county lines gangs. Thames Valley police commissioner Matthew Barber is backing the film and said they made the film to educate parents and tackle what they describe as the mistaken belief that only vulnerable children from troubled backgrounds are at risk. It is being funded partly by the auction of stolen goods seized from criminals. About 50 schools have requested the film to use as part of personal, social and health education lessons.
