Private schools should focus on providing quality education

In a letter to The Times, Clarissa Farr, former high mistress at St Paul’s Girls’ School, says that if private schools have gone overboard in addressing a “woke” agenda it is because they have become over concerned about expiating guilt at their very existence. Farr says that instead of attempting to modify the opinion of those intent on closing them they should get on with providing the quality education for which they are secretly admired, drive down costs wherever they can to stop fees spiralling out of control and build funds to provide bursaries.
