The Academic Director is a combined role which incorporates academic management and possible tutoring.

Academic management at Cherwell College Oxford is a developmental process which considers students’ academic needs, goals, interests and prior education.

Brief description of the role

The Academic Director is responsible for leading and managing academic programmes: writing and developing the relevant curriculum, liaising with tutors and providing educational guidance and assistance to students by planning schedules, recommending courses and determining appropriate educational solutions.

Additionally, the Academic Director will work in conjunction with other members of the Academic Team to promote student success and assist students to make informed decisions concerning their educational goals, future studies and university choices.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Qualified Teacher Status (preferred)

Skills & Knowledge

  • Academic management experience
  • Experience in UCAS system
  • Experience in tutoring one-to-one and in small groups (preferred)
