DEPUTY BOARDING HOUSE MANAGER 

Permanent, Full time

To start September 2023

£24,054 per annum 

Wymondham College Prep School opened in September 2020 on the site of Wymondham College, with two Reception classes, a total of 60 pupils. In September 2021 we opened our doors to our new Prep School building, as well as our new boarding facilities, Underwood Hall.

We believe that every child deserves to love their time at school and to remember it fondly. To facilitate this, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspiring and well-organised Deputy Boarding House Manager to join our richly rewarding school and boarding house.

THE POST
Reporting to the Assistant Headteacher – Pastoral & Head of Underwood Hall, Deputy Boarding House Managers are at the heart of our growing community of day and boarding student and will be actively involved in their lives.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Head of House, as well as supporting the house matrons.  They will be strongly involved in the ongoing development of the life of Underwood Hall.  They will have a high profile and must be as prepared to work independently as in a team. They must have the skills and talents to secure a caring, friendly, cohesive and productive atmosphere and will be confident in assuming responsibility for matters pertaining to Underwood Hall.

This post is fully residential and appropriate accommodation within Underwood Hall will be allocated to the Deputy Boarding House Manager for the better performance of their duties. This will be provided free of rent, utility bills and Council Tax.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Pertaining to the good order of the house and the behaviour, welfare and pastoral care, attainment and progress of the pupils
  • Have excellent communication skills, a warm and caring personality and a good sense of humour.
  • Cover teaching responsibilities where necessary and depending on qualifications/ experience;
  • Develop an appropriate range of house activities, taking account of the needs and interests of all pupils, paying attention to the needs of boarders;
