St Edward’s Oxford is looking for an enthusiastic Matron to play an integral pastoral role as part of our House Team.
As a Boarding House Matron, your primary responsibility will be the pastoral care of our pupils. You will help to ensure the mental, physical and emotional well-being of all pupils in the house, including their participation in school and house life. You will also help uphold the behavioural standards of pupils in the house and will encourage adherence to the school values and rules, ensuring that the school’s high standards are achieved and maintained. Additionally, you will also play a major housekeeping and administrative role to ensure the house runs smoothly and is well presented.
You will be a flexible and motivated individual, with strong listening skills and the ability to offer a high level of pastoral care. A high level of skill and knowledge is required to assist in the management of Child Protection and safeguarding issues; handling of confidential personal and medical information; and in the managing of difficult situations. Whilst previous experience in a similar role is desirable, appropriate training will be provided to ensure you are up to date with best practice, providing you with additional opportunities for your continued professional development.
