The Role

Are you a caring and responsible person who has experience supporting and connecting with adolescent girls? Do you have a strong interest in the welfare of students, exhibit positive standards, and enjoy building relationships with boarders, parents and staff?

PLC invites applications from enthusiastic individuals wishing to work with a welcoming team who are dedicated to creating a warm and nurturing term-time environment for our boarding girls.

This full-time, ongoing opportunity will make a positive difference to the boarding lives of PLC students.

Undertake a pivotal role in looking after the girls’ general wellbeing, assisting and supporting in their studies, actively engaging in Boarding House student activities to foster a sense of community, as well as providing administrative and operational Boarding House support as directed. The role includes providing compassionate pastoral care, establishing day-to-day routine and guiding the girls on academic progress of their secondary education journey.

The Boarding House Supervisor will work according to a 7-day roster rotation during term-time, including three sleepovers per week.

About You

As an ideal candidate you will have had previous experience supporting adolescent girls in a residential environment or in an education, welfare or health setting.

You will take a proactive, caring and compassionate approach to ensure girls’ academic progress, social emotions development and day-to-day needs are met. At the forefront of your interactions is considerate communication, excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to respect confidentiality and privacy of members of the College.

A current Working with Child Check (employee) is essential. You will also have flexibility to work overnight shifts as required.
