Adams House is a state boarding school in Wem, Shropshire, providing non-selective education. This is an exciting professional opportunity to take up a key leadership and management role in a successful co-educational community school, sixth form and boarding house, rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.

The Director of Boarding will share in the pastoral responsibility for the well-being of students within our Boarding Houses outside of school curriculum time, whilst strategically driving the boarding house to maintain high standards and boarding numbers.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a school, and have obtained, or be willing to study for, a BSA qualification. They will have excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to relate to students, aged 11-18 years. They are expected to understand and be prepared to commit to the ethos of the School. This is a residential role available to both teaching and non-teaching applicants.

The accommodation provided for the fulfilment of duties includes a newly-refurbished spacious 4 bedroomed house, which is attached to the Boarding House. This accommodation is free from rent and utility bills.
