We are seeking an adaptable, self-motivated, energetic and caring individual to take up the role of Resident tutor within a boarding school. Resident tutors are responsible for the welfare and care of boarders within the school community. Boarding at Buckswood is a team approach, where all residential staff are dedicated to the pastoral care of our students. You will help to provide a relaxed, warm and caring environment which the boarders are happy to call “home”.

Hours of work: 37 weeks per year

Resident tutors are required to be actively on duty, in the residence and around the school during times set out below:

Morning shift – 7am– 9am

Evening shift: 4pm – 10.30pm

Overnight supervision: 10.30pm – 7am

Weekends: 09:30am – 10.30pm with overnight supervision from 10.30pm to 9:30am

Resident tutors will have one day off each week (Monday to Thursday) with the exception of the first week of each term.

Due to the age range of pupils in their care, we cannot accept applications from anyone under the age of 21 for our House Parent vacancy.

Buckswood School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Criminal Records Bureau now the Disclosure and Barring Service. You must also have the right to work in the UK with appropriate Visa if necessary. If you have not lived/worked in the UK for the past 5 years you will need to provide a Police check from the country in which you have been living and working.
