Residential Assistant Houseparent (Female)

Required April 2024

 We are seeking a Female Assistant Houseparent to fulfil and develop an important and rewarding role within the boarding family at Embley.

At Embley we operate a 5-day teaching week, plus sports matches and fixtures on Saturday mornings, and therefore the boarding team mostly provide care in the mornings, evenings and at weekends (as per the boarding rota). For the boarding team this includes organising, leading and taking part in various fun and memorable trips and activities, so we would very much welcome candidates with additional and/or varied hobbies, interests and skills that could bring something extra to the boarding programme and enrich the boarders’ experiences at Embley. A full driving license will be essential for the role.

You will need to take initiative, be proactive, professional, confident in your abilities and communication skills.  You will swiftly learn the rules and routines of the House and be able to deputise successfully for the Heads of Boarding.   All boarding staff should enjoy the company of young people, including those from different cultures and be understanding of their needs.
