Merchiston Castle School is seeking to appoint a Residential Deputy House Parent to join the pastoral team in our Chalmers East (middle years) boarding house. As Scotland’s only independent boarding school for boys, Merchiston’s genuine focus is on the needs of each pupil and understanding how to help him thrive. With the support of our caring community, each boy is encouraged to unearth his talents, pursue excellence and flourish in myriad ways. The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting the House Parent and tutor team in the smooth running of the House. They will be familiar with the GIRFEC context, working at all times in line with Care Inspectorate guidelines and Care Standards to provide a safe and homely environment for the pupils.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
