Obviously school life was, and is, enriched immeasurably by the inclusion of girls; it was a
dynamic change that has allowed Cottesmore to build on its substantial legacy – the school
was founded in 1894.

There are several initiatives and celebrations planned including Cottesmore’s “50 Years of
Girls Ball”, a charity concert supporting girls’ education globally and women’s rights
organisations, a series of thought-leading talks, an art competition, and a conference
planned for September. We are also hosting a recitation evening of female poetry and
literary works.

We are enormously proud of the Cottesmore girls present and past. They have achieved
more than their fair share of success over the years in their academic studies and
scholarships, on the sports field and in the arts.

After 2024, the 50th year of girls at Cottesmore, the school looks forward to more of the
same: girls driving the school forward, being the change agents, and going on to achieve
great things at their senior schools and beyond.
