Term Time

Due to expansions within the team we are seeking to appoint several part-time Boarding House Matrons / House Assistants to join our team based at Worth School.

As the Boarding House Matron/ Assistant, you will manage the domestic arrangements for boarders within the house, with particular responsibility for assisting with the pastoral care of those in the house and contributing to the supervision and well-being of the boarders.

As the Boarding House Assistant, your responsibilities would include:

  • Supporting the Boarding Housemaster/Housemistress in the provision of pastoral care to the pupils
  • Liaising with parents and the Medical Department as required
  • Light cleaning duties to include dusting and polishing, vacuuming, removal of rubbish
  • Assisting the Boarding Housemaster/Housemistress with room/dorm list for each term
  • Preparing the house for pupils the week before term starts
  • Undertaking regular house inspections with the Housekeeper

What we are looking for:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience of working with children
  • Experience of working within an educational and/or school environment

There are several shift options available, including weekday evenings and weekends. Details of the shift patterns are below, but for further details please contact the HR department:

  • 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 4pm to 8pm
  • 11 hours per week, Saturday & Sunday, 8am to 2pm
  • 11 hours per week, Saturday & Sunday, 2pm to 8pm
