Claremont School is a co-educational, independent day and boarding school for children aged 1 to 18.
Our 700 students community includes 100 boarders from the UK as well as other countries around the world, adding an important international and multicultural dimension to the school. As a non-selective school, Claremont is thriving in terms of examination results, enrichment, art, musical and sporting achievement. We are seeking an exceptional House Parent to manage our senior boysâ boarding house, Clyde House, which is situated in St Leonardâs, near the coastal town of Hastings.
The ethos of boarding at Claremont is to provide a home-from-home feel and that of a large extended family. With that in mind, Clyde boarding house is situated off-site to allow boarders to enjoy the benefit of returning to a home environment after their school day. Every boarder is encouraged to develop their full potential in all areas of life, with the support of a dedicated team of boarding tutors under the management of two House Parents.
The successful candidate will have a passion for boarding, and education as a whole. They will be well-qualified with suitable managerial and pastoral experience to lead a large team of staff who are committed to the well-being of the sixty 13-18 year old students in their care. They will demonstrate flexibility, compassion, resilience, dynamism and a good sense of humour.
In September 2021, Claremont School underwent a full boarding, welfare and care Ofsted inspection, achieving an Outstanding overall judgement. This accompanies the full school Ofsted inspection, conducted in April 2019, where Claremont attained an âOutstandingâ rating in all areas. Therefore, you will be joining an established team, operating to the highest standards of education and care.
This is a full-time, residential position during term time and accommodation is suitable for one person. Salary commensurate with experience.
