Boarding Houseparent – Haberdashers’ Adams

Haberdashers’ Adams is a selective state grammar school with academy status situated in the small market town of Newport in rural Shropshire. It is a boy’s school with co-educational Sixth Form, although it will become co-educational in Year 7 from September 2024. There are five forms of entry and currently about 1050 pupils on roll; approximately 100 of these are boarders. The Sixth Form has about 370 students of whom about 120 are girls.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, adaptable and hardworking team player to look after the well being of the boy’s resident in the Senior Boarding House, whilst reporting to the Head of Senior Boarding. The Boarding Houseparent would have hours that predominantly occupy Friday and the weekend, as well as providing on-call support overnight, should a boarder become unwell.

Actual salary £10,572-£10,873 (FTE £23,601-£24,274).
