Job Description

Guildhouse School are inviting applications for the role of Headteacher from September 2023

Located on Bloomsbury Square in the heart of London, Guildhouse School counts among its neighbours some of the world’s greatest centres of education, art, fashion, and finance.

The aim and vision of Guildhouse School is to be an immersive environment for ideas and creativity, where students are empowered to make a positive impact on our world. We aim to give our students every opportunity to achieve the academic success to which they aspire. We aim to enable students to realise their goal of progressing to a university and the chance to pursue their career of choice.

The school is a co-educational independent day and boarding school catering mainly for international students aged 15+. We specialise in preparing students for exams to enable them to progress to universities, including A Levels and the CATS University Foundation Programme (UFP), but also to prepare them for success outside the purely academic sphere in their future careers. We are the only school in Europe to host a Bloomberg Business Lab, complete with Bloomberg Terminals. Students take part in an extensive range of extra and co-curricular activities including leadership awards, the Business Incubator Challenge competition and other national and international competitions.

The school was founded in 2011 under the name of “CATS College London”, joining CATS Cambridge and CATS Canterbury (founded in 1962) and joined by CATS Academy Boston in the US (in 2012). In October 2022 “CATS College London” rebranded to Guildhouse to better represent it’s unique geography and educational offering as part of the CGS Global Schools Group.

The school benefits from a Creative Commerce Board (CCB), a panel of industry experts who share their knowledge in pursuit of inspiring the school’s students beyond their classroom experience. In collaboration with Guildhouse School staff, the CCB inspires students to be creative, develop their intuition, and make a positive contribution to society in the future – Helping our students to become Tomorrow’s Change Makers. The CCB organises, recommends, and delivers a year-round programme of seminars, lectures, and informal events, introducing the Board’s real-world expertise and industry experience to students.

CATS Global Schools board of governors are looking to appoint an experienced and dynamic leader who along with the wider group can generate a strategic vision that will drive the next stage of development and success of the school. You will demonstrate excellent leadership and management as well as maintaining and developing further, the high standards of teaching and learning.

Applications will be reviewed throughout January and first stage interviews will take place in February 2023.
